Keefe D implicates Diddy in 2008 Police Interrogation for the Murder of 2Pac.
Keefe D, whose real name is Duane Keith Davis, was a member of the South Side Crips, a rival gang of Tupac and his label Death Row Records. In 2008, he confessed to the L.A. police that he was part of the shooting that killed Tupac, in exchange for immunity in a drug case. His confession was later revealed in a 2011 book by former detective Greg Kading, who worked on the case, and in a 2018 Netflix series based on the book.
According to Keefe D, his nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, was the one who pulled the trigger from their car. He also said that he would have done it himself if Tupac was on his side of the car. He said they used a Glock .40 from a hidden compartment in the armrest. He said he never told anyone else this story before.
Keefe D also accused Sean “Diddy” Combs of ordering the hit on Tupac and Suge Knight, who were both rivals of Combs and his Bad Boy label. Combs denied this allegation and called it “pure fiction and completely ridiculous.” Keefe D said that Combs wanted to get rid of Tupac and Knight after Knight insulted him at the 1995 Source Awards and Tupac dissed him and the Notorious B.I.G. in “Hit ’Em Up.” Keefe D said he met with Combs at a deli and asked for $1 million to kill them both. He said he told Combs, “We’ll wipe their ass out quick, man. It’s nothing.” He said that after Tupac’s death, they never received the promised $500,000 from Combs.
Keefe D also mentioned that Combs used his brown 1964 Chevy in Usher’s “Can U Get Wit It” video. He said the car was damaged during the shoot and that Combs paid him $2,500 to repaint it. Vulture contacted Combs for his response to Keefe D’s claims but did not get a reply.
