Man Arrested in Connection to Killing Tupac After 27 Years
Duane “Keffe D” Davis, a self-described “gangster” who was in the car where the shots came from on the night of Tupac’s murder, was arrested early Friday morning in Nevada . A case is being presented to a grand jury in Las Vegas, according to a source close to the investigation. The exact charge or charges against Davis were not immediately clear .
Davis is the uncle of Orlando Anderson, one of Tupac’s known rivals who authorities have long suspected in the rapper’s death . Anderson denied involvement in Tupac’s killing at the time, and died two years later in an unrelated gang shooting in Compton, California.
Davis has admitted in interviews and in his 2019 memoir, “Compton Street Legend,” that he was in the car with the shooter, but he has never named the person who pulled the trigger . He claimed he was offered $1.5 million by Death Row Records founder Marion “Suge” Knight to kill Tupac and his manager, but he refused. He also said he knows who killed Tupac’s rival, The Notorious B.I.G., six months later in Los Angeles.
Tupac’s killing has been one of the most infamous unsolved cases in hip-hop history, sparking numerous conspiracy theories and speculation about who was behind it. His fans and family have been waiting for justice for 27 years.
