Taylor Swift Talks travis, kim & Kanye, and Success in Her First Magazine Interview in Four Years as Time’s 2023 Person of the Year

Swift gives her first magazine interview in four years for Time, talking about her triumphs, her troubles, and her love life with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Swift says she has faced a lot of public scrutiny in the last 20 years. She says she has been praised and then criticized.

She also says she is very happy and proud of her current success. She says she feels very creative and free. Swift shares how she and Kelce became a couple.

Swift says Kelce mentioned her on his podcast, which she liked. She says they started dating after that. She says they had some time to get to know each other before anyone knew. She says they were already a couple when they went to their first game. She says some people thought that was their first date, but they would never do that.

Swift says she and Kelce support each other. She says they don’t care what other people think. She says they don’t want to hide their relationship. She says they are proud of each other.

Swift also made history by becoming the first entertainer to be in the top 5 of Forbes’ World’s 100 Most Powerful Women list, at the no. 5 spot. Taylor also is calling out Kim Kardashian for her role in the 2016 phone call leak between Taylor and Kanye West about his song “Famous.”

Back then, Kim posted parts of the call on social media. She made it look like Taylor agreed to the lines “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous,” which Taylor denies. She says she never heard the whole song. (The full phone conversation was released four years later. It showed the original leak was edited, and Taylor was right.) Now, Taylor is remembering that time in her life and how it affected her.

She tells TIME that Kim framed her in an illegal phone call, which Kim edited and posted to say Taylor was a liar. She says that hurt her a lot.

She says she moved to another country. She says she stayed in a rental house for a year. She says she was scared to talk on the phone. She says she pushed away most people in her life because she didn’t trust anyone. She says she was very depressed.

She says she thought her music career was over. She says her career was taken from her. She says she feels lucky to be where she is now. She says this is the best moment of her career, at 33. She says she is mentally strong enough to handle it.

She says she is the happiest and proudest she has ever been. She says she is very creative and free.
