Britney Spears Confesses She Had an Abortion with Justin Timberlake’s Baby in Her New Memoir

In her new memoir, The Woman in Me, Britney Spears reveals a shocking secret about her relationship with Justin Timberlake. They were both stars of the Mickey Mouse Club and started dating in 1999, when they were teenagers. “I love Justin so much,” she writes. “I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I anticipated.” She is referring to the time she got pregnant with his child and had an abortion. “It was a surprise, but for me it wasn’t a tragedy,” she says. “If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it,” she adds. “And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.” She calls it “one of the most agonizing things” she ever went through.

The book also covers her life under the 13-year conservatorship, the reason behind her head-shaving episode in 2007, and the fat-shaming she faced from her father, Jamie Spears.

Spears and Timberlake split in 2002 and she married Kevin Federline in 2004. She had two sons with him — Sean Preston and Jayden James — before they divorced in 2007.
