Rachel Zegler Defends Taylor Swift After “Sex Tape” Joke Surfaces About Her And Travis Kelce’s Relationship
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been in the spotlight since dating rumors emerged this summer. The singer and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end have attended two football games together, sparking a range of reactions from fans and critics. This week, critic Dan Katz from Barstool Sports expressed skepticism about the authenticity of their relationship on the 'Pardon My Take' podcast, saying, 'If Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift release a sex video, I’ll accept this relationship and be like, ‘Fine.'' Rachel Zegler, a friend and fellow actress, came to Swift's defense on X (formerly Twitter), stating, 'It’s not news that the media is especially (and unjustifiably) harsh to Taylor Swift but the way men feel entitled to talk about women, their bodies, and their sex lives needs to be seriously examined.' She also emphasized the double standards, adding, 'You will never see people talking this way about a man.' Zegler called for an end to the scrutiny of Swift's personal life. She later noted, 'Seeing a lot of ‘it’s a joke,’ but you’ve got to understand that since the beginning of time ‘you can’t take a joke’ has been synonymous with ‘let me say a terrible thing about women without facing the consequences’ — we’re sick and tired! It’s never been funny! Get a life!'
On Sunday, Swift attended the Kansas City Chiefs game against the New York Jets at the MetLife Stadium with celebrity friends, including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Sophie Turner. It was the second game she attended in support of Kelce. After fans and football enthusiasts went wild at the sight of Swift in Kelce’s suite, the Chiefs’ tight end discussed the potential romance on his podcast New Heights.
“Shout out to Taylor for pulling up. That was pretty brave,” Kelce said. “Everybody in the suite had nice things to say about her — the friends and family. She looked amazing. Everybody was talking about her in a great light. The day went perfectly — for Chiefs fans. It was impressive.”
