Weird Al Snatches Fist Emmy, Celebrates At In-N-Out

The first Primetime Emmy Award of “WEIRD AL” YANKOVIC’s career came when his biopic, starring Daniel Radcliffe and loosely based on his life, won Outstanding Television Movie at the 2023 Creative Arts Emmys.

He co-wrote and produced Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, which triumphed over Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas, Fire Island, Hocus Pocus 2 and Prey in the category. Yankovic, who has also won five Grammy Awards, posted a picture of his trophy on Instagram with the caption “Halfway to EGOT, baby!!!.”

But not everything went his way that night. His song “Now You Know,” which he wrote and sang for Weird, lost to Ed Sheeran and Foy Vance’s “A Beautiful Game” from Ted Lasso in the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics category. Yankovic still has a chance to win more awards on Sunday night, as he is nominated for Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. He enjoyed some In-N-Out Burger to celebrate his historic win.
