Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ Tour Breaks $1 Billion Record, Pollstar Reports

With her ‘Eras’ Tour, Taylor Swift has set a new record for the most money earned by a tour, surpassing $1billion in gross revenue. This is what Pollstar, a magazine that covers live entertainment, reported. The singer reached this impressive milestone after performing sixty shows in eight months. Before Swift, the record holder was Sir Elton John, whose ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour made $939million with 328 shows over five years, from September 8, 2018 to July 8, 2023. Pollstar also revealed that Swift sold a staggering “mind-boggling 4.3 million tickets at an average ticket price of $238.95”, and that she made about $17.3million per show for the current part of her tour.

The magazine based its estimates on their own box office reports, as well as “ticket prices in each market”, “record capacities at each venue” and “comparable tour data”. The $1billion figure does not include the earnings from The Eras Tour movie (around $250million) or the sales of tour merchandise (another $200million for Swift). Swift also commented on the frequent comparisons between her tour and Beyoncé‘s ‘Renaissance’ tour and concert film: “Clearly it’s very lucrative for the media and stan culture to pit two women against each other”
