CHER SEEKS CONSERVATORSHIP OF SON ELIJAH OVER DRUG ABUSE
Cher wants to be the sole conservator of her son Elijah Blue Allman’s estate, because of his alleged “severe” substance abuse problems. Court documents say that Elijah is “substantially unable to manage his financial resources” and needs a conservator to “protect his property from loss or injury”. The documents also say that Elijah’s estranged wife, Marie Angela King, is not fit to be conservator because of their “cycle of drug addiction and mental health crises”. The documents say that Cher is worried that Elijah will spend any money he gets from the Trust on drugs, putting his life at risk. The documents also say that Cher has tried to get Elijah into treatment and get him the help he needs. Cher loves Elijah and has his best interests in mind, but she can’t talk to him about his preferences because of his “current mental and physical health issues”. A hearing for a temporary order is set for January 5, 2024, and a hearing for a permanent order will follow on March 6, 2024. The documents come after Cher was accused of hiring four men to kidnap Elijah, 47, to stop him from seeing King and to help him quit drugs. Cher denied the kidnapping allegations and said the situation was related to Elijah’s addiction issues. “I’m not suffering from any problem that millions of people in the United States aren’t,” Cher told People. King said in court documents that she was not allowed to see or speak to Elijah, who was in lockdown at a secret treatment facility. She also said that Cher asked her to leave the family home while Elijah was away. Cher also recently slammed the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for snubbing her.
