New Allegations Surface: Second Woman Accuses Steven Tyler of Sexual Assault
Another woman has stepped forward with allegations of sexual assault against Steven Tyler, as stated in a lawsuit filed in New York. Jeanne Bellino, a former child model, asserts that she encountered Tyler in New York during the summer of 1975 when she was 17 years old. She alleges that Tyler, who was approximately 27 at the time, assaulted her violently twice on the same day they met. The lawsuit is based on claims of gender-motivated violence, and the plaintiff is seeking unspecified damages to be determined by the court.
According to Bellino, she met Tyler after a friend arranged for them to meet the band Aerosmith at the Warwick Hotel following a fashion show Bellino was participating in Manhattan. After their introduction to Tyler and some unnamed members of his entourage, they walked together down Sixth Avenue. While walking, Bellino asked Tyler a question about a song lyric, which seemed to agitate Tyler. He then forced her into a phone booth, where he subjected her to sexual assault. The suit alleges that Tyler groped and assaulted her, and others in the entourage observed without intervening.
The lawsuit also claims that Tyler's actions left no doubt that he was not wearing underwear and was wearing thin pants. Bellino eventually managed to free herself from the phone booth, leaving in shock and fear.
Upon returning to the Warwick Hotel with the group, Tyler allegedly again forcibly kissed Bellino and engaged in inappropriate conduct. Bellino resisted, but Tyler whispered to her that he would go to his room and call her to join him. When this moment arrived, Bellino was so frightened that she couldn't speak and left the scene in a hurry, aided by a doorman who had witnessed the prior incident.
Bellino confided in her sister about the alleged assault as soon as she got home. Since the incident, she has endured significant emotional and physical distress, embarrassment, humiliation, and ongoing psychological injuries, even requiring medication to cope with the trauma nearly five decades later.
This lawsuit comes nearly a year after another woman, Julia Misley (formerly Julia Holcomb), filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles accusing Tyler of sexually assaulting her when she was a teenager in the 1970s.
