Second Sexual Misconduct Lawsuit Filed Against Danny Elfman
Danny Elfman, the musician known for composing “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “The Simpsons” theme song, is facing a second lawsuit over allegations of sexual misconduct. The lawsuit, filed by an anonymous woman in Los Angeles, alleges that Elfman exposed himself to her and masturbated next to her while she was asleep. A representative for Elfman has denied these allegations.
This follows a previous lawsuit by composer Nomi Abadi, who accused Elfman of similar misconduct in 2017. Abadi reached a settlement of $830,000 with Elfman, but later sued him for breach of contract over missed payments.
Elfman’s representative has called the allegations “baseless and absurd” and stated that they will be vigorously defended in court. Jeff Anderson, the attorney representing both women, stated that it was important for them to know they were not alone.
In response to Abadi’s allegations, Elfman called them “vicious and wholly false” and stated that he had done nothing wrong. His representative claimed that the settlement with Abadi was made under duress, as Elfman faced an “unwinnable battle” to tell the truth.
Despite these controversies, Elfman continues his career. Last year, he performed The Nightmare Before Christmas at Wembley Arena with Phoebe Bridgers. He also worked on the original score for Netflix’s series Wednesday, alongside Chris Bacon. Next October, he is scheduled to perform at the Hollywood Bowl.
