The Black Keys Release Their Best Single In Years with help from Beck and Dan the Automator

The Black Keys have unveiled their latest track, “Beautiful People (Stay High).” This marks the first new single of 2024 from Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, and it was penned in collaboration with their long-term partners, Beck and Dan the Automator. The song “Beautiful People (Stay High)” is set to feature on The Black Keys' forthcoming album, Ohio Players, scheduled for release on April 5 through Nonesuch and Warner. This album, which is their first since Dropout Boogie in 2022, includes guest appearances from Noel Gallagher, Greg Kurstin, among others.

“Beautiful People” opens with a captivating funky melody that immediately draws the listener in. Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney’s harmonious collaboration with Beck and Dan the Automator is evident in the seamless blend of their distinctive styles.

The song’s production quality is top-notch, with their signature throw back sound that leaves the listener wondering what decade the song was from.

In a press release, Dan Auerbach commented on Ohio Players, stating, “We’d never worked harder to make a record.” He added, “It’s never taken us this long to make an album. We took our time and did it right.”

Patrick Carney also shared his thoughts on the album, saying, “What we wanted to accomplish with this record was make something that was fun.” He further explained, “And something that most bands 20 years into their career don’t make, which is an approachable, fun record that is also cool.”
